High Cube Shipping Containers
High cube containers are 40-foot and 20-foot containers that are an extra foot taller. They have a height of 9’6”. The extra height makes these containers especially sought after. High cubes, in short HC, are actually similar in structure to standard containers. The length and width remain the same but the height increases by one foot. The extra room makes them a perfect solution for a variety of storage needs.
40' High cube containers tend to be more popular than 40' standard containers. High cubes are a foot taller, thus providing more space. The other benefit is that in some markets, the 40' high cube containers are cheaper than 40-foot standards. LEARN MORE
There tend to be more 40'HC's in use for commercial shipping—a trend that is only growing. In the one-trip/”new” market, we the 40’ high cube is often the only choice as one-trip 40’ standards are not as common as one-trip 40’ high cubes.

Last week, CBS’s Sunday Morning had a story on one of Super Cubes’ favorite couples, Brie and Zack Smithey. They built an 8-container house out of used 40’ high cube containers they bought from Super Cubes. It was so wonderful to see container homes getting coverage in general, but the Smithey’s house is a a work of art. Literally. Zack is an artist and their home showcases much of his work. The couple worked with an architect to create a great floor plan, but added their fantastic taste to make each room a true masterpiece.
